My Greatgrandson Cayden

My greatgrandson Cayden just over 1 year old.
He looks so much better than he did a month
after birth. Filled out and very healthy.

These are the tiny colorful pinecones on our
backyard trees. They started off a soft grey
and turned into mottled colored spikes.

Street side improvements

The street side of the house looked horrible
so I used the dozer blade on my tractor to
remove the imbedded rock and weeds.
I had 5 yards of gravel dumped and spread
it with the blade and a hand rake. I think
the finished product came out quite well.
The area is 60' X 9' and took me two days
work to finish.

Found this little animal on the lawn in the
backyard. It is a mole and has done quite
a bit of damage to the lawn and my garden.
Look closely at the little paddle paws. The
ground here is filled with rocks yet he is
able to dig a tunnel, push the dirt and rocks
up through a hole he bores in the yard. The
evidence is a mound of dirt/rocks. I use
ammonia to kill them off by pouring it in
the tunnel once I dig down and find it.

Backyard Retreat

I decided that this little corner of the backyard
would make a good place for a retreat. A place
to sit and have a cool drink. A place to enjoy
quiet and reflect on the day. A place to "get
away" from the world, if only for a little
while.Posted by Picasa

The Bountiful Garden

The garden looks great, now if we can get some
sunshine and warmth to cause them to ripen
we will be in "hog heaven". Absolutely unin-
dated with produce.
This is some of the bounty from the garden
It will eventually give us tomatoes of various
sizes and colors plus cucumbers. We have
been harvesting yellow and green beans
for quite some time now. Waiting for the
green peppers to get larger before plucking
them.
Please notice the jacket on during August.

Managed to put these two chairs together. Next
I will try to build a 2X4 platform in the backyard
under a tree on which to set them.

Taz - The cutie

This is TAZ. He is a Pomeranian.
He is very friendly but a little wary.
About 10 years old. He will fill
a hugh hole left when we lost
Missy.

In Memorium 6 June 2009

We lost Missy today to kidney and liver
failure. Our little girl is gone forever.
We will miss the laughs, smiles and the
howling from the couch every evening to
see if I would join her. Many tears have
been shed and many more will follow.
